Mama Laiwah Presents: The Wisdom of the Tarot Suits - A new series

I love Tarot. Every reading feels like stepping into a living story told through images. There are characters, plot lines, conflicts, twists, and moments of clarity that arrive right on time. Tarot speaks in pictures, and those pictures have a way of revealing truth without needing many words.

This month, we'll explore the magic of the four Tarot suits: Wands, Cups, Swords, and Pentacles. Each suit brings its own perspective, its own lessons, and its own kind of wisdom to the story of our lives.

Before we dive into each suit individually, let’s talk about why the Tarot suits matter.

The four suits belong to the Minor Arcana, a group of 56 cards that run from Ace through Ten and conclude with the court cards: Page, Knight, Queen, and King. I love working with the energy of the Minor Arcana cards because they focuses on everyday living. These cards reflect our relationships, our choices, our reactions, and the small but meaningful moments that shape our days.

Each suit carries its own energy and personality. Together, they help us understand what is happening beneath the surface. When these cards appear in a reading, they add texture and detail that other systems often miss. They help answer the real questions we have about life; questions about intention, motivation, and next steps.

When I want insight into the people around me, their actions, their unspoken motives, or the energy they are bringing into my life, I turn to the Minor Arcana. But more importantly, these cards force me to see myself. They help me examine my own emotional intentions, my personal responsibility, and those moments when I need to pause and ask myself if I am contributing to the situation in ways I have not yet acknowledged. In other words, the Minor Arcana let me know if I'm the problem!

In this next series of blog posts, I will highlight one of the four Minor Arcana Suits. We'll cover the following:

  • The Suit's Energy

  • The type of People they represent

  • A spiritual tool that resonates with this suit

  • A spell that addresses the energy of this suit

This should be fun! We'll start next week with the Wands! But also, if you're interested in learning to read tarot and use them in your daily life, join The High Priestess: Group Tarot Coaching!
